UAE National Cancer Registry |

The UAE National Cancer Registry is a population-based cancer registry established in 1998 concurrently with legislation by the GCC Council of Health Ministries. The Ministry of Health in the UAE realized the need for generation of more accurate data on cancer as a result of the change in disease patterns and emergence of cancer as one the major causes of morbidity and mortality in the country. Moreover, it has been recommended by the Executive Office of the Council of Health Ministers for the Arab Gulf States to establish national cancer registries in member countries. The UAE National Cancer Registry started collecting cancer data from the first of January 1998. The registry is covering all the UAE population including Nationals and Non-Nationals in the geographical boundary of UAE as well as those diagnosed or treated abroad. Cancer morphology and topography are coded according to the International Classification of Diseases for Oncology – 3rd edition. Other information is coded according to the rules and regulations of the GCCR operating manual. The UAE National Cancer Registry office is located in Tawam Hospital – Al Ain city where an advanced oncology centre is offering medical services to all UAE population. Your are Visitor No. : |
