SCOPE OF SERVICES:

Polyclinic is a vital part of Tawam Hospital offering specialty health care services to outpatients.
Polyclinics provide quality care, based on Customer Focused services, professional communication and seek patients’ satisfaction. Polyclinic is a multi-specialty clinic in Al Ain City managed and operated by SEHA in affiliation with John’s Hopkins.

Polyclinics have professional staff and capabilities to provide general and specialist health care services for all patients from paediatric through to geriatric patients requiring outpatient hospital services. A number of approximately 20,000 patients are seen monthly across these specialties.

HOURS OF OPERATION:

Polyclinics is staffed between the hours of 07:30 am – 05:00 pm, Saturday through Wednesday (except Public Holidays), any extra working hours needed are consider overtime. Emergency coverage is provided on a 24-hour 7-day a week basis through Emergency Department.

PATIENT POPULATION:

The patient population served by polyclinics consists of paediatric through geriatric patients, who are eligible in Tawam Hospital

STANDARDS OF PRACTICE:

Nursing Practice is evidence based and guided by international standards and care delivery is governed by general and specialty unit specific policies and procedures; and the Lippincott Manual of Nursing Practice, 7th edition.

PATIENT ASSESSMENT

Assessment policy in Tawam Hospital is used as reference for the formation of Guidelines for patients’ assessment and reassessment to meet the patient population continuing care needs. Following the polyclinics triage policy patients care needs are assessed by Nursing staff. All patient attending any clinic will have a comprehensive vital signs performed by a nurse upon arrival before seeing the physician and whenever is needed.
