Dr Hidayatullah is a Consultant in Palliative Medicine, trained as anesthesiologist from India and is American Board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He was working as Pain and Palliative care Specialist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital Riyadh from 1994 to 2007. He moved to Tawam Hospital in January 2007 to start the first organized Palliative Care Service in the country. He is an ardent advocate of cancer pain management and Palliative care. He was invited as speaker in several regional conferences. He is Vice Chair of Comprehensive Pain Management Committee and Member of Tawam Hospital Ethics Committee.

He is also member of the International Association of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the Asia Pacific Hospice and Palliative Care Network, and the Indian Association of Palliative Care.
