4Dr. Sandra Thomas, ARDMS, DCR, BSc Hons, MSc, PhD

Qualified as a Diagnostic Radiographer (St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London 1978) moved to Riyadh, KSA in 1980 and undertook training in Diagnostic ultrasound achieving registration in 1983 (Tuft’s Medical School, Boston, Mass).

Returning to UK in 1984, became a clinical tutor in ultrasound (Diploma 1986, London) specialising in paediatrics and critical care and holding various teaching posts throughout the UK.

BSc Hons awarded in Management and Health Sciences, 1999 followed by MSc (2002) and PhD (2007) for ultrasound research projects.

Joined SonoSite Inc in 2002, as Education Manager, initially in Europe then moving to Dubai in 2006 to take responsibility for education in Middle East, Africa and India with the major focus being on the introduction of the use of point of care ultrasound to improve patient care in emergency medicine, anaesthetics and critical care. Currently run in excess of 80 courses in these specialities per annum.
